Clair U. Easter

Clair U. Easter, 91, of Bedford, died on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. He was born on November 1, 1934 in Bedford, a son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Smith) Easter. On June 29, 1957 in Canton, OH, he married Sally L. (Ullom) Easter and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2018 after 60 years of marriage. He is survived by the following family: a son: Timothy Easter widower of Vicky of Bedford; a daughter: Sharon DeWeese and husband Dave of Ormond Beach, FL; a son Dwayne Easter and wife Zana of Carlisle; a son: Troy Easter and wife Lisa of Listie; a daughter: Wendy Elliott and husband Kelly of Bedford; a son: Kevin Easter and wife Camilla of Bedford; thirteen grandchildren: Karee, Katelyn, Melissa, Amber, Robert, Joseph, Alec, Jenna, Jessica, Derek, Jacob, Samantha, and Kree; nine great-grandchildren: Aaliyah, Tevin, Finn, Dwayne, Doc, Indy, Monroe, Sienna, Payton, and Nora; and a brother: Clay Easter and partner Alice of Bedford. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Casey Jo Easter and a sister, Janie Groff.

Clair served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Standard Register Company until its closing, and in the evenings at the Trio Motor Lodge. After Standard Register Company closed, he worked at JLG until his retirement. He enjoyed maintaining his yard, golfing, and hunting.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Father Derek Fairman officiating. Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
