Charlotte M. Stiffler

Charlotte Marie Stiffler 92, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Donahoe Manor with her daughter by her side.  She was born on July 23, 1929 in Derry, a daughter of the late John and Ruth (Hughes) McGinnis.  On October 26, 1949 in Winchester, VA she was united in marriage to Max H. Stiffler who preceded her in death on March 8, 2000.  She is survived by three children: Barry Stiffler and wife Molly, of Virginia Beach, VA, Greg Stiffler and wife Sherry, of Enola, and Charlene Dollar, of Bedford; grandchildren: Leighton Stiffler, Kelly (Stiffler) Brady, Bobby Schlosser, Jody (Schlosser) Keffer, Beth (Dollar) Haslam, Suzanne (Dollar) Pierce, and Dan Stiffler; 11 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild due in January 2023; and two siblings: Jim McGinnis, of Ligonier, and Ruth Smith, of Matthews, NC.  She was preceded in death by her son, Max L. Stiffler, and siblings: Jack McGinnis, Florence Friel, June Verro, and Doris Heiple.

Charlotte was a homemaker for many years and later worked at Wilmar and Cancellation Shoe Stores.  She was a member of the Fort Bedford CB Club and looked forward every year to the Toys for Tots program.  She was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed watching golf, tennis, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.  She especially loved watching game shows, with Jeopardy at the top of the list.
