Charlotte A. Diehl

Charlotte A. Diehl, 91, of East Penn Street, Bedford, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born on May 11, 1924, in Jenners, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Rhoda (Taylor) Wolf.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dexter S. Easton on May 17, 1950, and by her second husband Clarence A. “Bud” Diehl, on August 8, 1998. She is survived by one daughter, Christine J. Biser of Bedford; two sons, Eric D. Easton and wife Beverly of Everett, Jeffry C. Diehl and wife Cathy of Bedford; one brother, Thomas Wolf, of Wells Tannery; four grandchildren, Eric Easton Jr., Joshua Easton, Mandy Sipple, and Leah Fedorchak; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Easton and Andrew Fedorchak.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; Rudolph Wolf, William Wolf, Simon Wolf, and Shelley “Jack” Conner; and one sister, Marjorie Weist.

Charlotte was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford.  She was an active member, and past president, of the Bedford American Legion Auxiliary. She was also active with the Lioness Club and was an active member, and past matron, of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She also served as a majority inspector of elections for Bedford Borough East Ward.  She had been a member of Eight and Forty, the Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, the Bedford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, past secretary of the Soroptomist Club, and served on the board of the Cancer Society.  Mrs. Diehl operated her own beauty shop in Bedford for over fifty years.  She had a strong faith in God, and was devoted to her family and friends.  A talented cook, she was always baking or cooking for someone in need.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford, with Pastor Raymond E. Short and Pastor David Weinhold officiating.  Burial at Everett Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m., at the Timothy A.
