Charles R. Stiffler, 62, of Raleigh Road, Bedford, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home. He was born February 8, 1948 in Everett, son of the late Paul E. and Agnes (Hite) Stiffler Brantner. On June 25, 1972 in Bedford, he married Jane Foor and she survives along with two children; Richard I. Stiffler, married to the former Kim R. Swartzwelder of Everett and Tonya L. wife of David Shepps of Bedford, six grandchildren: Jared Shepps, Tyler and Sara Haskins, Brady, Kylie and Lydia Stiffler. Also surviving are three brothers; Steven Stiffler and wife Sharon of Bedford, Wesley Stiffler and wife Vickie of Clearville, Tony Stiffler and wife Kathy of Rip ton, VT, two sisters; Dorothy wife of Charles Werner of Schellsburg and Nancy, widow of Ronald Bush of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a brother John Stiffler and a sister Ida Pearl Stiffler.
Mr. Stiffler was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Everett. For 38 years he worked at Everite Door Company in Everett, He was a member of the AFLICO Union. He enjoyed the Rising Star musical competition, loved woodworking, hunting and coaching baseball and softball.
Funeral services: Friday, March 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Matthew Vollbrecht officiating. Burial at Trinity UCC Cemetery in Friends Cove, with military honors conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday morning.
