Cathy Ann Diehl

Cathy Ann Diehl, 72 of South East Street, Bedford, PA., passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on September 28, 1954 in Bedford, a daughter of Roy C. Miller and the late Mary Catherine (Creps) Miller. She married Jeffry C. Diehl on October 3, 1981 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. In addition to her husband and father, Cathy is survived by her daughter, Leah Fedorchak and husband Nicholas of Wooster, OH; her grandchildren: Andrew and Aubree Fedorchak; two sisters: Amy Waltower (Wesley) and Susan Schnably widow of Stephen; one brother: Michael Miller (Vickia); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cathy graduated from Bedford High School in 1972 and Shippensburg University in 1976. She devoted 37 years to teaching elementary education in the Bedford Area School District. During her career, she taught at Cumberland Valley Elementary and later at Bedford Elementary following the consolidation of the district’s smaller schools.

Cathy was a baptized member of the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, visits to the beach, sharing meals and conversations with family and friends, and creating handmade all-occasion cards with her friends at card club.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. David Weinhold officiating. Burial at Ritchey Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
