Caryl B. Ritchey

Caryl B. “Cy” Ritchey, 84 of Victoria Ave., Everett, died Friday evening, March 30, 2012 at Pennknoll Village.  He was born February 27, 1928 in Loysburg, a son of the late Harry L. and Mary B. (Baker) Ritchey.  On August 6, 1950 in Woodbury, he married Anna Bulger, and she survived along with a son Randall H. Ritchey, married to the former Colleen Browell of Bedford and a daughter Candance Ann wife of James Meek of DeMoise, Iowa.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Aaron Ritchey and wife

Deanna of Bedford, and Adam Ritchey of Chambersburg, and two great granddaughters.  He was preceded in death by a brother Glenn B. Ritchey.

Mr. Ritchey was one of nine graduates of Replogle High School, class of 1946, and a 1954 graduate of Penn State University, he served four years in the Navy as an Aircraft Carrier Pilot, during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Loysburg UCC Church, but attended Bedford United Methodist Church. He was a member of Woodbury Lodge #539 F. & A.M., Bedford Royal Arch Chapter and Past High Priest, Bedford American Legion Post 113, Bedford VFW Post 7527, and Bedford Elks Lodge # 1707.  He was a former Trustee for Altoona First Savings Bank, Past Chairman of Bedford TWP Municipal Authority, and served man years on the RSVP Board.  He was a retired partner of Ritchey, Ritchey & Koontz Certified Public Accountants.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Jeff Welsch officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday morning one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
