Carla Karnas

Carla (Ridgway) Karnas, 65, of South Thomas Street, Bedford, passed away on March 16, 2014 surrounded by her family and friends.  Carla was born on April 13, 1948 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Winfred and Eleanor (Henrickson) Ridgway. She is survived by her husband William A. Karnas, of Bedford, four children: Jason Karnas of Bedford, Aaron Karnas married to the former Kristi Fisher of Jim Thorpe, Laurel wife of Marc Rosen, of Upper Macungie, and Matthew Karnas of Bedford; three grandchildren: Cooper and Colby Rosen, and Chase Karnas.

Mrs. Karnas was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford, and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania.   She worked for Bedford-Somerset MHMR for 36 years, as the CAASP Coordinator. The CAASP team was made up of all the child service agencies and the Pennsylvania State Police, and as a team they brought the Camp Cadet program to Bedford County.  She was also a pre-school director for 18 years for special needs children.  Carla enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing bridge.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pennwood Bible Church with Pete Peters officiating. Arrangements by the Timothy A.
