Calvin E. Amick, 88, of Masters Ave., Everett, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home. He was born November 12, 1922 in Clearville, son of the late Umphrey and Laura S. (Steckman) Amick. On April 6, 1946 he married Thelma M. Hite and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2007. He is survived by three children; Calvin E. Amick Jr. married to the former Annalouise Beegle of Bedford, Janet widow of Gary Tritsch of North Miami Beach, FL, and Steven D. Amick of Duncansville. Also surviving are six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a brother Dale Amick of Everett. He was preceded in death by five sisters; Naomi Hann, Marjorie Ryan, Crystal Morris, Helen Kidd, Marian Kniseley.
Mr. Amick was a member of Trans Run Methodist Church. He was a retired truck driver for Howe’s Homes in Abbottstown, and prior to that had driven for Dibert Mobile Homes in Everett. He was a World War II Army Veteran that served in the Pacific Theater with the 225th Battalion Field Artillery, and he also served one year during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral Services: Monday, July 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev John R. Garner B.D. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
