Brooke L. Leppert

Brooke L. Leppert 59, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on August 8, 1964 in Bedford, a son of the late Harry F. and S. Gail (Pyle) Leppert.  On October 23, 2004 he married Janice (Keys) Leppert who survives along with three siblings: Brian C. Leppert and wife Susan, Wendy G. Clark widow of William, and Wynn E. Leppert and wife Rose, all of Bedford; nieces and nephews: Adam, Jessica, Ben, Ashley, Emily, Eric, Leesa, Billy, Christy, Crystal, Richard, James, and Michael; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Brooke was a 1984 graduate of Bedford High School.  He was employed at various places over the years including as a corrections officer at the Bedford County Jail and was currently employed at the Bedford PennDot maintenance shed.  Brooke had a big heart and personality, and never met a stranger.  He loved and supported his community of Bedford and gave his time to many charitable organizations.  He was best known for spreading Christmas joy by playing Santa Claus for Downtown Bedford Inc.  He additionally gave his time and talents to various organizations including the Bedford County Players, Abby’s Animal Haven, the Fall Foliage Committee, and was a former member of the Bedford Fire Department.  He enjoyed making homemade caramel corn and barbequing, as well as camping, attending music festivals, and live music shows.   He was a long-term member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford.

Funeral services will be private.  Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 5-8 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Brooke’s name to: Abby’s Animal Haven, 120 W.
