Brian S. Malzi

Brian S. Malzi, of Manns Choice, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.  He was born on November 28, 1959, in Johnstown, a son of the late Harry W. and Carol (Stapleton) Malzi of Johnstown, who survives.  On July 10, 1999, he married Debra Allsopp, who survives along with the following family members: a daughter, Amber, fiancée of Scott Fraser of Johnstown; a son, Harry Malzi of Johnstown; one granddaughter, Keria; two sisters, Sharon, wife of Robert Yost of Mechanicsburg, and Pamela, wife of Ernie Heninrich of Windber; two brothers, Terry, married to the former Susan Huggins of Wilmore, and Russell, married to the former Bonnie Brant of Salix; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vanessa Dawson, and one brother, Timothy.

He was a member of Berkey Church of the Brethren. Brian had a passion for fishing and riding motorcycles.  He will be missed by his two dogs; Sadie May Wag-a-Tail and Buddy Neutron.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with the Rev. Earl Crissman officiating.  Burial at Entriken Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 4 -9 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Brian’s memory to Windber Research Institute, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
