Brian K. Fletcher, 64, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at UPMC Bedford Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1961 in Bridgeport, CT, a son of the late Kenneth T. and Thelma L. (Beard) Fletcher. He is survived by his fiancé: Sandra Christopher of Bedford; two sons: Andrew Fletcher and Timothy Christopher, both of Bedford; a daughter: Stephanie Christopher (Carson Soellner) of Cresson; a brother: Daniel Fletcher and wife Linda of Bedford; a sister: Catherine Opaska and husband Daniel of Carnegie; nieces and nephews: Mark Fletcher, Ashley Fletcher, Christopher Opaska (Carrie), Autumn Bergling (Jeep), and Sarah Opaska; and many cherished friends, relatives, and his GSD’s, Trooper and Princess.

Brian attended Bedford High School and later attended the IUP Police Academy, obtaining his certification in 1990. He dedicated 32 years to the Everett Police Department and also spent time working for the Bedford County Sherriff’s Department, finding great joy in serving his community. He was a history buff, reading books on WW2, the Civil War, and comic books. He would also participate in Civil War reenactments, where he was an extra in the movie Gettysburg and was a member of the Calvary. In his spare time, he enjoyed metal detecting and looking for Civil War artifacts, fishing, hunting, and going to the shooting range. He drank many cups of coffee with his dad and friends at the Landmark, listening to and telling many stories. Most importantly, Brian was very eager to earn the title of grandfather in five short weeks, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter, Whitley Rose Soellner.
