Betty J. May

Betty J. May, 80, of Dibert Road, Everett, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on March 18, 1932, in Hopewell, the daughter of the late Clair C. and Grace (Morgart) Heeter. On December 13, 1958 in Bedford she married Richard A. May  that ended a marriage of 54 years.  He survives along with the following family:  a son, Darryl L. Price married to the former Mary Jones of Greencastle, a son, Ronald L. Price of Bedford, a daughter, Sharon E. Fetter and companion Tim Harclerode of Bedford, a son, William F. May of Glade Pike, a daughter, Tina Martin and husband Roger L. of Bedford, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a sister Doris Swindell of Hopewell.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Ralph, William, and one sister, Sara.

Betty was a member of the Bald Hill Lutheran Church and served as the Ladies Auxilary President for 30 years.  She attended Robert P. Smith School at Cottle’s Corner and worked as a waitress all her life at various restaurant’s in Bedford and Breezewood, and retired after 21 years from Clara’s Place.  She enjoyed cooking, baking for her family and loved to feed and watch the birds.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Jenny Barnes officiating.  Burial at Woods Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday from 6 - 9 p.m at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
