Betty J. Brooker

Betty Jean Brooker, 75, of East Pitt Street, Bedford, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on August 5, 1933, in Everett, a daughter of the late Joseph Earl and Faye Irene (Smith) Riley.  She is survived by a son, Robin Bernhard, of Mantua, OH, a daughter, Louretta Hicks of Boswell, many grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sisters: Marcine Crist and Floy Knox and one brother Bud Earl Riley.

She was a member of Member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Bedford and was affiliated with the Bedford Church of the Nazarene.  She retired from Donahoe Manor, as a CNA and prior to that worked for Howard Johnson's, Pitt Theatre, The Coach Room, and the Moose.  She enjoyed animals, golfing, gardening, writing, reading her bible and became an organ donor.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 20, 2009, at 6:00 PM, from the Bedford Church of the Nazarene with the Pastor Michael Adams officiating.  Arrangements by Timothy A.
