Bertha M. Weston

Bertha M. Weston, 94, of W. Pitt St., Bedford, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Western Maryland Health Center in Cumberland, MD.  She was born September 19, 1916 in Port Matilda, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Catherine (Adams) McMonigal.  She was married to Harry G. Weston and he preceded her in death.  She is survived by four children:  Joyce Weston Rose and husband Charles Rose of Fairfield, PA; James Weston and his wife Carole of Diamond, Ohio; Jan Weston Brown and husband Roy Brown of Cumberland, MD and Julie Weston Sherwood also of Cumberland. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; Samuel R. Rose, Beth Ann Swankler, Susan M. Hileman, James Weston, Harry Weston, Chris Weston, Deceased, Judy Grasinger, Rande W. Brown, Courtney L. Brown, Tracy L. Sherwood and Trevor Sherwood, and 18 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Mrs. Weston was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church and was a retired LPN who had worked at Bedford County Memorial Hospital.  She was very interested in tracing her family history and was an accomplished seamstress.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.   Burial will be at Bedford Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Those wishing may make contributions to the Bedford United Methodist Church, 132 E.
