Bernice H. (Morris) Smith

Bernice H. Smith, 87, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born in Colerain, on March 18, 1932, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Alvah C. and Marguerita (Young) Morris. On September 27, 1952, in Cumberland, MD, she married Norman “Jerry” Smith, who preceded her in death on February 25, 2012.  She is survived by a daughter, Linda Strohe and husband Jerry, of Spokane, WA; a son, David R. Smith and wife Barbara, of Bedford, two grandchildren:  David Strohe and wife Melissa of Spokane, WA, and Missy Strohe and friend Ron Jones, of Wilkes Barre; two great grandchildren:  Matthew and Gabby Strohe both of Spokane, WA; and one brother, James R. Morris of Bedford. She was preceded in death by one brother Pete Morris.

Bernice was affiliated with the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Dan Oldham officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
