Bernardine Antoinette (Czyzewski) Bugle

June 12, 1931 — May 27, 2025

Bedford, PA

Bernardine Antoinette Bugle, (formerly of Bedford) a resident of Rebecca's Personal Care Home in Everett, passed after nearly 94 years of life on May 27, 2025. She was born on June 12, 1931, on the Southside of Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Caesar “Chester” and Monica Czyzewski.  On July 18 1959 in Erie, she married Richard Edward Bugle and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2010.  She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Turkovich and husband Dave of Bedford and a son, Richard Bugle Jr. and wife Robin also of Bedford; and four grandchildren: David, Jessica, Jacob, and Laurrie. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca and two sisters Alfreda and Dolores.

She grew up in the Southside of Pittsburgh and got her first job in high school working at the Pittsburgh Mercantile, just a block away from home. She met Richard Edward Bugle after he was discharged from the Air Force.  They were avid duckpin bowlers and loved to go dancing at local clubs in the area. They lived in the Pittsburgh area until moving to Virginia Beach in 1968.  Moving to Bedford, Pennsylvania in 1973 brought them and their three children closer to family.  As a city girl, she took a while to adjust to country life. She wasn't much of an outdoor person, but she adapted and became a true gardener's wife, canning and freezing abundant vegetables and fruit that Rich grew every year.  She and Big Rich were known for their special blend of tomato juice, perfect for a Bloody Mary. They loved to travel, vacationing in Myrtle Beach every summer and taking many cruises and trips to Europe over the years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church from the time they moved to Bedford.  Bea loved to take ceramics classes and over the years produced many beautiful pieces.  She worked at Breezy Acres Dairy for years, then moved on to Wal-Mart shortly after it opened, working full time there until she was in her 80s.  She always loved being around people and was quick with a witty comeback, even until her death.  Bea was never without a smile on her face and always had a kind word, no matter how bad her day was.  Special thanks go to Dustin, Sherry, the staff at Rebecca's, and all of the residents.  They became like family to her in the time she was there.
