Bernadine A. Motter

Bernadine A. “Becky” Motter, 82, of Echo Vale Drive, Bedford, died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Altoona Regional Hospital.  She was born April 17, 1929 in Johnstown, daughter of the late William and Stella (Maher) Berger.  On October 31, 1953 in Johnstown she married Bernard H. Motter, and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1994.  She is survived by four daughters; Patricia wife of Patrick Miller, Theresa wife of Henry Hillegass, Kathleen wife of Dale Hebner and Rebecca wife of Joe Deremer, all of Bedford.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Christopher Miller, Stephanie wife of Ben Causby, Jennifer wife of Luke Potter, Aaron Hillegass, Erick Ryan, married to the former Katie Dougherty,  Emily Hebner and Rebecca Joe Deremer, and one great grandson Archer Ryan.  She was preceded in death by a brother John Berger.

Mrs. Motter was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, and a member of St. Thomas Ladies Guild.  She had worked as the secretary at St. Thomas School for 40 years, retiring in 2006.  She also had been the secretary for her husband’s business, Transit Motor Parts.  She was a loving mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with Father Donald Dusza celebrant.  Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 7:30 p.m.  Those wishing may make contributions to St. Thomas School Hall, c/o of St. Thomas Catholic Church, 215 E.
