Barbara L. Zimmers

Barbara “Bobbie” L. Zimmers, 63, of Daisy Lane, Bedford, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at CTCA Eastern Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia.  She was born on November 28, 1949, in Cumberland, MD the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (May) Shaffer. On June 5, 1981 in Winchester, VA she married Robert L. Zimmers who survives along with a daughter, Amy Mallioux and husband Thomas, of San Antonio, TX, a son, Daniel Zimmers married to the former Dorothy Weaver of Altoona, a daughter, Jessica Hamilton and husband Andrew of Medina, OH, six grandchildren:  Evan, Shawnelle, Armand, Michael, Caleb, and Matthew and  a sister, Sandra Clark and husband Robert of Bedford. She was preceded in death by an infant son Jeb.

Barbara was a member of the Hyndman Methodist Church and attended the Bedford United Methodist Church.  She worked for over 15 years for Dr. Lazer at Cornerstone Family Eyecare.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Wednesday, 1 hour prior the service at the funeral home.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Barbara’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1004 North Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
