Barbara J. (Wilkinson) Metzger

Barbara J. Metzger, 84, of Bedford, died on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born on March 24, 1936, in Blandburg, a daughter of the late Elwood and Helen (Edmiston) Wilkinson. On June 23, 1956, in Blandburg, she married William "Fred" Metzger who preceded her in death on January 24, 2012. She is survived by the following family: two daughters Donna S. Metzger of Punxsutawney, and Lee Ann Davis and husband Mark of Osterburg; two grandchildren: Emily Ickes and Joey Davis; one great-grandson:  Kingston;  two sisters: Sandra Bungo and husband Gene of Smith Mills, and Mary Lou Culbertson and husband Benjamin of Chambersburg; one brother Robert Wilkinson and wife Lynne of Greencastle; a niece Heather Culbertson of Waynesboro; a nephew Brian Wilkinson and wife Christine of Hagerstown, MD; and one great-niece Zoey.  She was preceded in death by one son Jeffrey William Metzger.

Barbara was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church and worked in the Courthouse at the Prothonotary’s office.  After retiring she took care of her grandchildren and family.  She enjoyed yard work, making ceramics, and going to painting classes with her daughter.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
