Barbara J. McLaughlin 56 of S. Juliana St., Bedford, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Windber Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Windber. She was born February 17, 1952 in Bedford, daughter of Lois (Shinholt) Mickey Rose of Bedford and the late John C. Mickey. On June 11, 1983 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, she married Charles V. McLaughlin and he survives along with four daughters: Michelle of Bedford, Sabrina of Austin, TX, Becky and Mandy both of Bedford, two grandchildren: Andre and Nevaeh and the following brothers and sisters: John C. Mickey and wife Dot of Bedford, Nancy wife of Charles Robinson of Altoona, David A. Mickey and wife Marcia of Alum Bank, Timothy A. Mickey and wife Nancy of Bedford and Thomas C. Mickey of Frederick, MD.
Mrs. Mickey served ten years in the Navy, and had been working as a cashier at Weis Market. She was a former Unit Manager of the Girl Scouts for the Shawnee Council.
Funeral Services: Thursday 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Thomas Ekstrand officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday from2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to the Windber Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963 in her memory.
