Barbara (Barin) Kostelac

Barbara Kostelac 89, of Bedford, died Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Donahoe Manor.  She was born on November 21, 1933 in Hutchinson a daughter of the late George and Mary (Mikovich) Barin.  On February 27, 1955 in Winchester, VA she married Matthew Kostelac Sr. who preceded her in death on July 31, 2004.  She is survived by two children: Matthew Kostelac widower of Nancy, of Bedford, and Susan Turkovich and husband Robert, of Bedford; three grandchildren: Bobby Turkovich and wife Mollie, Michael Turkovich and wife Amy, and Lauren Clark and husband Obie; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two siblings: Ann Zovko, of Tampa, FL, and George Barin and wife Becky, of Wellington, FL.  She was preceded in death by a brother Ivan Barin widower of Diane, of Wellington, FL.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and preparing meals for family gatherings.  She was a friendly neighbor and liked to play Scat with her siblings. She retired from West Penn Power in Greensburg.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:30 am.. St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Richard Tomkosky Celebrant.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m., until departure for the Church at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.  Burial at West Newton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: St. Vincent De Paul Society, 215 E.
