Barbara M. Imler

Barbara Marlene “Toots” Imler, 71, of Younts Road, Bedford, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, January 11, 2010 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born November 13, 1938 in Sproul, daughter of the late Samuel P. and Lena V. (Weiand) Exline.  On April 7, 1957 in Bedford, she married Joseph A. Imler Sr. and he survives along with two daughters; Alicia Jo wife of Alan Leydig of Buffalo Mills, and Patti Ann wife of William A. Hinson of Dillsburg, and a son Joseph A. Imler, Jr., married to the former Christine G. Redinger of Bedford.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Jessica, wife of David Frye, Emily, wife of Dan Parks, Beth, wife of Wade Runk, Andrew Leydig and fiancée Marissa Buterbaugh, Jeremiah Leydig, Benjamin Hinson and wife Kirsten, Kerri Hinson, Erika Imler and A.J. Imler, one great granddaughter; Alena Runk, two brothers; William G. Exline and wife, Kathy,  of Brookville, David D. Exline of Bedford, four sisters; Mary wife of Paul Crooks, Peggy Anderson, Rose, wife of Kerry Barefoot all of Bedford and Linda, wife of Ronald Hoffman of Imler, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard.

She was a graduate of Bedford High School class of 1956 where she was head majorette, and the Altoona Beauty School in 1957.  She was formerly a hair stylist and a tax preparer.  She was a member and served as a secretary of Pleasant Hill Bible Church, in Imlertown.  She was also a member of the Pioneer Bowling League and the Bedford High School Alumni Assoc.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting and reading and will be sadly missed by her companion Abbie

Funeral Services: Thursday, January, 14, 2010, at 11:00 a. m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Sean McGill officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
