Arlene E. Carl, 82, of Lake Drive, Bedford, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 4, 1929, in Pottsville, a daughter, of the late Frederick and Emma (Stakes) Shuller. On October 21, 1950, she married Charles Carl and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1984. She is survived by a niece, Linda Kutay of Lancaster, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Glasser of Downingtown and her son-in-law Steven Shroyer, with whom she made her home. She was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Carl-Shroyer, and a sister Leona.
She was a member of Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church, and worked at RG’s convenience store by the turnpike entrance.
Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Pottsville. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford. Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
