Ardis P. Myers

Ardis P. Myers 89 of Vondersmith Ave., Bedford, died Tuesday evening, April 28, 2009 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.  She was born March 27, 1920 in New Paris, daughter of the late Norman and Prudence (Fleegle) Miller.  She was first married to Fred Dull and he preceded her in death.  On November 9, 1947 she married Harvey M. Myers and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1994.  She is survived by four children: Joyce wife of Harry I. Miller of Schellsburg, Norman M. Myers married to the former Shirley Hahn of South Fork, Sannie wife of Kevin Claycomb of Bedford, Marlon Myers married to the former Nelda Tew of New Paris, ten grandchildren: Dale Miller and wife Shelby, Terry Miller, Keith Miller and fiancé Brenda, Mark Myers and wife Tammy, Matthew Myers, Jeff Shaffer, Lea Ann Wife of Keith Wehrung, Nathan Claycomb and wife Denise, Jennifer Myers and fiancé Walter Kropelin, and Marlon Myers Jr., 11 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a brother, Donnie Miller and wife Martha of New Paris, five sisters, Sylvia, wife of Stanford Miller, Betty Checkeye both of Alum Bank, Ethel Kinsey of Windermere, FL, Doris Richendollar of Clermont FL and Amber Dull of Duncansville.  She was preceded in death by one daughter:  Darlene Mulvehill, three brothers: Cubin, Henry and Robert Miller, a sister Maxine Robb, twin infant sisters and an infant brother.

Mrs. Myers was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.  During World War II she was one of “Rosie’s Riveters” riveting airplanes in a defense factory in Michigan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home Inc. in Bedford with Rev. Dan Oldham officiating.  Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery in South Fork.  Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
