Ardell Robert Varner, 68, of Manns Choice, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1940 in Johnstown, PA a son of the late Chester and Viola (Norton) Varner. On April 11, 1975 in West Virginia he married Brenda J. Cook and she survives along with the following family, a son, Robert A. Varner of Manns Choice, a step-son, Thomas W. Cook of Somerset, two grandchildren: Cassie and Kyler Varner, a sister, Geneive Young of Buffalo, NY, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister Betty Golden.
He was of the protestant faith. He worked as a painter and also traveled with the carnivals and the fairs helping them setup. He enjoyed fishing, camping, picnics and putting together model cars.
Funeral Services: Friday, September 18, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Diehl officiating.
