Ann Marie (Miller) Brown

Ann Marie Brown 68, of Wolfsburg, died on Monday, October 21, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on November 23, 1950 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Jay I. Miller and Mary Regina (Hankinson) Miller, who survives of Wolfsburg.  On May 7, 1977 in Bedford she married Walter L. Brown, who survives along with a daughter, Marie E. Hurley and husband Scott, of Baltimore, MD; a granddaughter, Ava Marie Hurley; a sister, Mary R. Ranker and husband Bernard, of Bakers Summit, a brother, John Miller and friend Roxanne Garrison, of Vineland, NJ, a brother, Patrick Miller and wife Patricia, of Denver, NC, a sister, Gloria Ann Pearon and husband William, of Herndon, VA, and a sister-in-law, Judith Miller, of Vineland, NJ.

Ann Marie was a 1968 graduate of Bedford High School, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972.  She taught first and second grade at Bedford Primary School and Bedford Elementary School.  Ann Marie helped coordinate a grant for revitalizing education in the classroom during her career. As an officer of the Bedford Area Education Board, she was also a grievance coordinator and on the negotiating team for many years. She was the chairperson for the Junior Catholic Daughters and co-director of the children’s choir at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford. She was a founding member and officer of the Catholic Daughters at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Everett.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and enjoyed traveling, reading, crafting, scrapbooking, cooking, and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Everett, with Father Derek Fairman Celebrant.  Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in New Baltimore.  Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make contributions in Ann Marie’s name to: Love Inc., 80 State Street, Everett, PA 15537.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
