Andre E. Koul

April 9, 1922 — February 26, 2016

Andre E. Koul 93, of Victoria Avenue, Everett died Friday, February 26, 2016 at his home.  He was born on April 9, 1922 in New York, NY, a son of the late Panko and Francis (Rybek) Kowal.  On May 17, 1969 he married Nancy (Helmer) Koul, who survives along with a son Jeff Koul, and wife Michelle; and two granddaughters: Madeline and Julia.  He was preceded in death by three sisters: Anna, Mary, and Minnie, and a brother Joe.

Andy served in the U.S. Army during WWII, being stationed at Fort Knox, KY and later at Fort Ord, CA, until the end of the war.  He was later employed as a machinist, toolmaker, and sub-contracts buyer at various companies in New York.  He begain employement at Bulova Corporation in 1962 where he worked as a methods engineer and Quality Control Manager in the Systems and Instruments Division.  He retired from Bulova in 1990 and moved to Bedford where he and his wife have resided since 1991.  Andy was an avid golfer and a member of the Bedford Kiwanis, and Bedford Area Photography Club for many years.  In addition to his photography, his artistic talents also were seen in his paintings, pencil/ink sketches, which he enjoyed doing, and often showed at the Bedford Art Center.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Brady Plummer officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
