Alvaretta R. Sneed

Alvaretta R. Sneed, 94, of Colonial Courtyard, Bedford, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 24, 1918, in Bedford, a daughter of the late D. Clay and Bessie H. (Arnold) Zimmers. On December 19, 1945, in Johnstown, she married Robert P. Sneed who preceded her in death on April 29, 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. wife of Alan Meyer of Toms River, NJ, a granddaughter Mandy wife of Joseph Wagner, and a great-grandson, Drew Thomas Wagner all of Wittmann, AZ. She was preceded in death by two sisters: H. Louise Schmitz and Gladys L. Mickey.
Alvaretta was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and retired after 35 years from the United Telephone Company. She was a 1936 Graduate of Bedford High School, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames XVII Century, and Tri County Telephone Pioneers.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Bedford, with Pastor Raymond E. Short officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements by the Timothy A.
