Alphonse Debonis

Alphonse DeBonis 93 of Bedford Valley Road, Bedford, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. He was born December 13, 1913 in Lodi, NJ, son of the late Carlo and Carmella (Congalosie) DeBonis. On May 6, 1943 in Paterson, NJ he married Violet Vigerito and she preceded him in death on March 19, 1998. He is survived by a son Ronald A. DeBonis married to the former Shirley Wilson of Bedford Valley and a daughter Darlene DeBonis of Baltimore, MD, nine grandchildren: Ronald DeBonis, Michelle Reconzone, Denice young, Vincent DeBonis, Alice Yarbrough, Audra Morrison, Christine Vaux, Heath DeBonis and Melissa Williams and 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister Josephine Ferriello.
Mr. DeBonis was retired from the auto salvage business and he loved hunting and the outdoors. He served in World War II as an Engineer with the Army.
Funeral services: Wednesday 1:00 pm in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Father Donald Dusza officiating. Burial in the Fellowship Cemetery in Centerville. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
