Mark A. Zembower 66, of Cumberland Valley, died Friday, September 15, 2023 at his residence. He was born on June 11, 1957 in Youngstown, OH a son of the late Willard “Max” Zembower and Gail (Kochendarfer) Datesman, surviving of Bedford. On December 4, 1990 in Winchester, VA he married Linda (Hite) Zembower who survives along with a step-son, Scott Sebolt of Hyndman; a step-grandson Avery Sebolt; a sister Lisa Henry and husband Marty, of Bedford, a niece Ashley Beegle; and two step-brothers: Miles Datesman and wife Laura and their children: Sidney, and Addison, of Pittsburgh, Dan Datesman and wife Tina, of Bedford, and a step-sister Darcy Windows and husband Kevin and their children: Ben, and Joey. He was preceded in death by a step-son Pete Hite and step-father Rev. Ed Datesman.
Mark served in the Army for two years with the 101st Battalion, and then went into the Army National Guard Reserves. He worked with his dad at Max’s Gulf, in Cumberland, as well as Bedford Ford, and Bedford Reinforced Plastics. Mark loved to listen to music, especially Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and The Ohio State Football games.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 14501 Bedford Road NE, Cumberland, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.
