James E. Yauger, 75, North Juliana Street Bedford, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at his residence. He was born on November 20, 1929 in Farmington, a son of and the late Ethel Belle Bruce. On August 7, 1954 in Bedford, He married Josephine Benna, who survives along with the following family, 2 Daughters, Patricia wife of Samuel Hartman, Lydia Yauger, both of Bedford, 1 Son, Clare married to the former Carol Kahana of New Jersey, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 Brothers, Charles Yauger, of Arkansas, Robert Yauger, and Clarence Yauger both of Lemout Furnace, 4 Sisters: Cecilia Skelton, of Ohio, Ethel Viola Custer, Minnie Shroyer both of Lemout Furnace, and Connie Cordrey, of Florida. He was preceded in death by 1 son James Yauger Jr. and Edward and Maude Lute who raised him.
He was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church, graduate of Bedford High School, one of the founding members of the Fort Bedford Honor Guard, life member of Bedford VFW 07527, A veteran of the Korean War and former member of Everett National Guard, He was a 20 year employee of Eastern Express and worked 12 years as an over the road truck driver for many trucking companies.
Funeral Services on Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 2:00 PM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
