Scott E. "Gene" Dibert

Scott E. “Gene” Dibert, 81, of Bedford, died on Monday, August 20, 2018, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on August 16, 1937, in Bedford, a son of the late Scott L. and Lena (Anderson) Dibert.  He is survived by a daughter, Gloria Imler and husband Jay, of Florida, a son Robert Dibert, and wife Diane of Sanford, FL, a son Ronald Dibert and wife Danielle, of Bedford, John Dibert and wife Dana, of Orlando, FL, and a daughter Jamie Martinez and husband Ernie, of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Sara L. Grubb-Ford, and husband Bill, of Bedford, numerous nieces and nephews; special friend Tracie Miller, of Bedford; and a friend Mike Karns, of Bedford; He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Catherine Robinette and Ruth Fleegle.

Gene worked and owned a dairy farm since the 1960’s in Dutch Corner.  He enjoyed singing and playing in the band the Flying J’s. He also enjoyed raising his Jersey cows and working on his 2520 John Deere Tractor.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Daniel Oldham, officiating.  Burial at St. James Lutheran Church, in Imlertown with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
