Rusty was the most caring and thoughtful landlord we have had the pleasure of knowing. There was never a time that he didn't have ours and our children's well-being at heart. Our three children loved seeing rusty every time he would stop in with Diesel/Akeita and say hello; Rusty would always put on a smile for the kids. Rusty was truly like a second father to us and he was truly loved and will be missed. Our prayers and deepest condolences are with his family. THANK YOU RUSTY R.I.P.

Although Rusty will no longer be with us on this earth, he will always be remembered by his neighbors and friends for that easy smile and of course Diesel, his loving companion. We will always remember the countless smiles he and Diesel brought to the patrons at Ed's Steak House with Diesel laying on the cab of his truck awaiting his master to return from lunch. Can you imagine how many photos of that dog there must be across this country taken by travelers? The two were very much alike, large in life - yet kind, gentle souls. We had Rusty haul many loads of dirt and shale for us over the years, most recently with the building of a garage. Our father (Heidi's dad) helped with the initial dirt work and had his backhoe and dozer there running it when Rusty brought fill in. Rusty called him 'Pap' and was sure not to rush him - 'I'll wait on you Pap, take your time" "I'll put this dirt just where you need it Pap, I want to make your job as easy as possible". It's fond memories like these that all Rusty's friends have of him, and it's memories like these that we all hope people remember of us when we leave this earth. To Tyler and all Rusty's family go our heart felt condolences - Rusty has lived the fullest of lives and no longer has to suffer, until we all see him again in heaven may we all try to live our lives to the fullest just as he did.

No one can prepare for a loss, it comes like a swift wind. In moments of great ordeal, sometimes words are useless. My heart goes out to you. Words cannot express ones personal journey. A thought of comfort to you and your family. I will share in your sorrow with love and friendship. May angels be with all of you.
I see Rusty and Diesel racing in the pasture, and that brings a smile...
Love and Hugs, Connie

He was a great guy and we are glad that we became part of the family by taking care of your beautiful Mom and Dad, and meeting the family. Rusty would always come over to the house and check on Mom and Pop; share ice cream with us. He gave Eleanor a tractor ride on big yellow and we had a great time, he will be sadly missed. He truly blessed our lives. God had gained a great man and his beloved Diesel.

I just found out about Rusty and wanted to express my sincerest condolences to all of his family. I have many great memories growing up with Rusty in the Belden neighborhood. Though I only make it back to Bedford a couple times of year, over the years, I always seemed to run into Rusty an inordinate amount of the times whether it be at the races or whatever. Those too, were always fun and enjoyable times and filled with laughter. I will miss those chance encounters.

Rusty I'll always remember how handsome you were and your infectious smile.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Rusty. He fought the ultimate fight any person can fight. He will always be remembered for his loving buddy "Diesel Dog" and for his kindness he had for everyone. We enjoyed sitting with him and watching the races at the Bedford Speedway and having long sessions of conversations afterwards. He was very generous with being a sponsor on our race cars as well. It's hard to believe he is no longer with us and it's going to take a while to process this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Tyler and for all of his family and friends as well. Take comfort in knowing he is in the Loving Arms of the Lord now and is no longer in pain. May God Bless each and everyone of you!!!!
