Ronald N. Kidd 81, of Buffalo Mills, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on August 31, 1937 in Bedford, a son of the late S. Newton and Dorothy Mae (Miller) Kidd. On August 15, 1959 in Winchester, VA he married Peggy J. (Leydig) Kidd, his wife of 60 years, who survives along with the following family: a daughter Patricia Kline widow of Tim of Altoona, a son Ronald “Pat” Kidd and wife Karla of Buffalo Mills; six grandchildren: Natasha Peters, and husband Joshua, of Hollidaysburg, Jordan Lankey and wife Ashley of Altoona, Tatiana Barnett and husband Cass of Germany, Nikole Kidd of Buffalo Mills, and Isaac and Bradley Lankey of Manns Choice; four great-grandchildren: Kaden and Liam Peters, and Brazen and Haevyn Barnett; a sister, Linda Whetstone widow of Harry, of Bedford, and two brothers: Michael Kidd and wife Eileen, and Larry Kidd, both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lankey, widower Mark surviving of Manns Choice; two brothers: Dale Kidd widow Miriam surviving of Connecticut; and William “Bill” Kidd widow Debra surviving of Texas.
Ronald retired from PPG after 30 years, and was a member of the Buffalo Mills United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Bedford Bird and Nature Club, Bedford Sportsmans Club, Photography Club, Garden Club, NWTF, & the NRA. Ronald was a loving, and hands on grandfather to his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, fishing trips to Canada, and elk hunting in Colorado.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor James Golla officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
