Robert A. Berger 97, of Bedford, died Monday, January 1, 2017.  He was born on July 17, 1920, in Philadelphia, the third of seven children to the late William E. and Anna (Simpers) Berger.  On February 23, 1946 in Lindenwold, NJ he married Regina F. (McBurney) Berger who preceded him in death on April 22, 2014.  Together they had 3 children, Eileen, James and William.  Only James survives, a retired Presbyterian Minister in Estero, FL.  Bob has two grandchildren, Benjamin living in Tampa, FL, and William in Los Angeles, CA. 

Bob grew up in Laurel Springs NJ.  He then graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1937, and served for a year with the Civilian Conservation Corps in California.  He was drafted in 1943 and served with the US Army, 2459th Quartermaster Truck Company in the China-Burma-India Theater.  He was a truck mechanic in the Army and a machinist for nearly 30 years.  He retired early to build his dream house in Bedford.  Bob was a devout Christian, and a life-long youth leader and advisor.  He and Jean touched hundreds of lives with their caring guidance to teenagers and young adults, primarily through the Christian Endeavor organization. 

Funeral services will be held private.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
