Rita E. Folton, 92, of Bedford, died on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. She was born on April 19, 1927, in New Baltimore, a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Olive M. (Schaab) O'Brien. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Earl Saylor who was from Boswell, eight sisters, infant Helen, Mary Imgrund, Margaret Hillegass, Rose Fochtman, Anna O'Brien, Irene O'Brien, Theresa Drenning, and Evelyn Fletcher five brothers: Harold, Leo, Robert, Gerald, and Francis O’Brien widow Thelma who survives, of Everett.
Rita was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford. She worked in the Lingerie Factory in Boswell before moving to Rhode Island to work and then retire from A.T. Cross Co. After her retirement in 1990 she moved back to Bedford to be with her family and take care of her sisters. She enjoyed traveling with friends and walking.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with Father Richard Tomkosky Celebrant. Burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in New Baltimore. Friends will be received on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until departure for the Church at 11:00 a.m. at the Timothy A.
