Mark G. Leibfreid, 59, of Bedford, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1958, in Lansdale, a son of the late Pershing and Charlotte (Wolford) Leibfreid. On July 4, 1997, in Johnstown, he married Patricia (Glass) Leibfreid who survives along with the following family: a daughter, Rebecca Muller of Lititz, a granddaughter, Aubrianna Muller also of Lititz; a brother, William C. Leibfreid married to the former Frances Thomas, of Bedford; a nephew, Joshua Leibfreid married to the former Stephanie Koontz, of Bedford; a niece, Jennifer Leibfreid and husband Jeffrey Raynes, of Bedford; three great nieces Charlotte Raynes, Emslee and Garrity Leibfreid; two great nephews: William Raynes and Finnley Leibfreid.
Mark graduated from Bedford High School in 1976 and Vale Tech in 1978. Mark retired after 25 years from State Farm Insurance as an estimator. He was a member and past commander of the sons of the American Legion Post #113 and currently served as adjutant. He was also a member of the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society KC3CMF, and was involved in Camp Cadet of Bedford County for many years. Mark was passionate about auto racing, motorcycles, ham radio, and was a small engine wizard. He enjoyed driving “Miss Millie”, but most importantly he enjoyed helping others in any way he could. Celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers pay it forward.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Pastor Raymond E. Short officiating.
