Lisa A. Barnes

Lisa A. Barnes 58, of Preston Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 24, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on January 27, 1960, a daughter of the late Robert L. Barnes, and Phyllis (Ringler) Colledge surviving of Bedford. She is survived by her fiancé, Jay Benton of Bedford, and Jay’s son, Andrew Benton and wife Katelynn, of Breezewood; and two grandchildren: Aubree and Blake; two brothers: Robert R. Barnes and wife Joyce, and Brian K. Barnes and wife Nancy, both of Bedford; two-step brothers: Jerry Colledge of Everett, and Joel Colledge and wife Karen, of Clearville; numerous nieces and nephews, and her mother-in-law, Dolores Benton.  She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jack M. Colledge, maternal grandparents: Grant and Ona Ringler; and paternal grandparents: Rush and Marcella Barnes.

Lisa was a 1977 graduate of Bedford High School and attended UPJ.  Her compassionate and caring personality was exemplified at a young age working at Donahoe Manor, and continued on in life caring for her mother and mother-in-law on a daily basis.  She was a bartender at the former K&M, and worked at the Sunoco on the turnpike for 20 years.  Lisa was an animal lover, and enjoyed reading and watching Steelers football.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Brady Plummer officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
