Leta M. (Arnold) Hershberger 84, of Lancaster, formerly of Bedford, died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Hamilton Arms Center, in Lancaster. She was born on February 19, 1934 in Bedford a daughter of the late Clyde B. and Eddrie E. (Wilson) Arnold. On October 26, 2013 in Mt. Joy, she married Robert Hershberger who survives along with the following family: a daughter, Marian B. Hershberger of Lancaster; four step-children; twelve step-grandchildren; a sister, Glee Kling and husband Albert, of Lancaster; three brothers: Milton Arnold and wife Sally of Bedford, Ross Arnold and wife Alberta, of Bedford, and Ivan Arnold and wife Sharron, of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Emil Arnold, and Wayne Arnold, widow Sherry who survives of Bedford; and a sister, Edythe Martin, widower Warren surviving of Harrisburg.
Leta was a 1952 graduate of Bedford High School and worked for Kennametal and Millersville University. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, and was active with the United Methodist Women at the local, district, and conference levels. Leta was active with the church in many other activities including Communion Steward. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, and crocheting.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be held at Burning Bush Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
