Florence "Flo" Ritchey Obituary

Florence “Flo” Ritchey, 92, of Bedford died on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at her residence. She was born on January 28, 1927, in Koontzville, a daughter of the late Roy and Daisy (Nevett) Koontz. On October 28, 1966, in Friends Cove, she married Joe C. Ritchey Jr. and they were together for 72 years and married for 52 years. Along with her husband she is survived by a sister, Margaret DeArment and husband Don of Everett, two sister-in-law’s, Rena Ritchey of New Paris, and Mary Ellen Arnold of Martinsburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Koontz widower Frank who survives of Ohio.

Florence was an active member of the Friends Cove United Church of Christ and also attended St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bedford. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Brown. She enjoyed Farming with her husband, gardening and had a passion for flowers. She was a member of the Bedford Springs Chapter #41 Order of Eastern Star.
