Dorothy J. Price, 87, of Bedford, died on December 28, 2017, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on August 23, 1930, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Herman and Anne (Southerly) Wertz. On September 15, 1951, in Cumberland, MD, she married Frederick Price and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Keel husband Orville, of Bedford; a son, Randy Price, of Everett; a step-son, Ronald Bloom and wife Barbara,  of Osterburg; four grandchildren:  Timothy Keel and significant other Patricia Fleck, Amy Craig, Nicole Price and significant other Mike Fleegle and Dustin Price; five great grandchildren:  Tori, Abbey, Jason, Brody, and Alexander.  She was preceded in death by one grandson,  Michael Keel; four brothers Jim, Tom, Harry and Joe Wertz; four sisters Nellie Self, Betty Swartzlander, Mary Baker, and Shirley Hann.

Dorothy was a member and sang in the choir at the Bedford Assembly of God Church now the Real Life Church in Bedford.  She worked many jobs including, helping in the kitchen at the Coach Room, working as a maid at the Penn Bedford Hotel, and retired from Donahoe Manor Nursing Home after 35 years. She also took care of and sat with a lot of different people during the day and evening.   She enjoyed playing cards and going to church.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Brian M. Swain officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Saturday, from 9 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
