Connie M. (Tew) Whisner

Connie M. Whisner 69, of Bedford, died on Friday, February 2, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on June 10, 1948 in Bedford, a daughter of the late William Earl and Emma Mae (Deshong) Tew.  She is survived by a son, James Caldwell Whisner, of Bath, a daughter, Deb Whisner-Drenning and husband George, of Manns Choice, and a son, Daman Goldsboro, of Dover, DE; five grandchildren: Desire, Mykal, James, Oshawna, and Veronica; two great-grandchildren: Steven Jr. and Leigha; a sister, Ida Marie Gurtnmayer and husband Joseph, of Tennessee, a brother, Harvey A. Tew and wife Jane, of Everett, a sister, Gertrude “Greta” Didonato, of Philadelphia, and a twin sister, Bonnie Uzak, of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Virginia Mae Tew.

Connie operated her own beauty salon in her home, and prior to that worked as a beautician at Dover Air Force Base.  She also worked for the tax claim assessment office, and the telephone company.
