Catherine R. (Runk) Shaffer

Catherine R. Shaffer, 97, of Holland, PA, formerly of Bedford, died on June 12, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Langhorne, PA.  She was born on August 3, 1920, in Orbisonia, a daughter of the late Granville and Beatrice (James) Runk. On April 27, 1939 she married Earl  H. Shaffer Sr. who preceded her in death on February 19, 1997. She is survived by a son, Earl H. Shaffer Jr., and wife Jane, of York Haven; a daughter, Cathie S. Bower and husband Nevin, of Hatboro; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Ebersole.

Catherine was a member of the Everett Church of God and volunteered at the church.  She was the coordinator for Bedford Ministerial Meals on Wheels program for 15 years , and was a worship leader for a bible study at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home for 25 years. She also enjoyed flower arranging.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Everett Church of God with Pastor William Kisner officiating, burial at Haven Rest Memorial Park in Mt. Union.  Friends will be received on Monday from 9 -11 a.m. at the church.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
