Carl F. Rowser, of Bedford, died on July 31, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. His wife, Carol, and son, Scott, predeceased him; he is survived by his brother Paul.
Carl was married to Carol George on April 30, 1966. A graduate of Bedford High School, Carl served in the United States Navy and was employed at Pennland Diesel during his younger years.
Entrepreneurial, he was the sole proprietor of Rowser’s Diesel Service on Business Rt. 220 for 30 years. An avid hunter and sportsman, he travelled westward and northward into wilderness areas to hunt big game and to fish.
His affinity for engines included motorcycles; he biked to Daytona Beach and Sturgis to participate in Bike Week and attended local events such as Johnstown’s Thunder in the Valley. Upon retirement, he purchased a vacation home in Florida to continue his love of boating, fishing, and biking.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford. Burial will be private. Full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard will be held at the funeral home. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 6 - 8 p.m. during this time a Masonic service will be held, and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Carl’s name to the Bedford Honor Guard, 3721 Business 220, Bedford, PA 15522.
