Berdadine “Beanie” Whetstone, 88, of Charlesville, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born on October 29, 1929, in Rays Cove, a daughter of the late Carl and Effie (Deshong) Foor. On February 23, 1950, in Winchester, VA, she married David C. Whetstone and he preceded her in death on January 20, 1984. She is survived by the following family: a daughter, Gail Miller and husband Andy, of Bedford, a son, Dennis Whetstone and wife Candy, of New Paris and a daughter, Patty Clapper and husband Michael, of Magnolia, DE; five grandchildren: Ryan Whisel, of New Paris, David Whetstone and wife Stormy, of Windber, Clarissa and husband James LaRue, of Dickinson, TX. Sr. Airman Simon Clapper and wife Jen, of Wichita, KS, Sr. Airman Ethan Clapper and wife Tori, of Clayton, OH; four great grandchildren: Essence and Marley Whisel, Rhory and Blayne Whetstone. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Nathan Foor and wife Maude, Robert Foor and wife Eloise, Aldon Foor and wife Arlene, Grover Foor and wife Bertha, one sister Josephine Sloan and husband Robert and an infant sister.
Berdadine was a member of the Friends Cove UCC. She cleaned houses for a lot of families in the Friends Cove area and was a longtime volunteer at the hospital snack bar. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, canning, gardening, feeding the birds and growing flowers. She was the person to call when things needed done.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Friends Cove UCC, with Rev. Dr. William Shrout, Rev. Paul Claycomb, and Rev. Ron Mayberry officiating. Burial at the church cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
