Barbara N. (Nave) Arnold

Barbara N. “Barb” Arnold, 86, of Bedford, died Monday, April 23, 2018. She was born on November 3, 1931 in Centerville, a daughter of the late Sherman “Jim” and Helen (Hammer) Nave.  On April 23, 1955 in Bedford she married Joseph B. Arnold and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1992.  She is survived by a son Roger Arnold and wife Thelma, and a daughter Beth Hullihen and husband Wayne, both of Bedford; five grandchildren: Lindsey and husband Joseph Widmann, Genna and Cari Arnold, Joseph Hullihen, all of Bedford, and Daniel Arnold and wife Beth, of Indiana; two great-grandchildren: Jackson McCormick and Lily Widmann and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margaret Ann, two brothers: Robert Nave and Roger Nave widow Dot, surviving of Everett; and a sister Alice Kenen.

Barbara worked for Suburban Real Estate, Arnold’s Floor Covering, and retired from Ashbridge Oil Company after 25 years.  She was originally a member of the Bortz Lutheran Church and then became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R). Barbara was her grandchildren’s biggest sports fan. She enjoyed camping, vacationing in Cape Hatteras and her season tickets for Penn State Football.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Raymond Short officiating.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Barbara’s name to: Trinity Lutheran Altar and Nave Renovation Project, 106 W.
