Theodore "Gene" Musselman

Theodore “Gene” Musselman 85, of Pensyl Hollow Road, Bedford, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Homewood at Martinsburg.  He was born on June 12, 1931 in Claysburg, a son of the late Ross and Josephine (Musselman) Musselman.  On July 13, 1956 at the Bald Hill Lutheran Church, in Everett, he married F. Rose (Lehman) Musselman, who survives along with the following children: a son Jeffrey Musselman and wife Judy, of Bedford, a son Kenneth Musselman and wife Kathy, of Richmond, VA, a son Donald Musselman and wife, Cindy, of Hopewell, a daughter Vickie Cavanagh and husband Tim of Harrisburg, and a son Terry Musselman and wife Margie, of Bedford; 11 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jarrod, Kara, Ashley, Bryan, Jason, Caleb, Marcia, Sara, Wesley, and Tyler; 14 great-grandchildren: Carter, Courtney, Sumer, Derrick, Miles, Bryanna, Kenzie, Braden, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Allison, Kade, Keeley, and Nathan; two sisters: Mary Ellen Dively, and Phyliss Fisher; two brothers: Joe Benny Musselman, and Jeffrey Musselman; and two sisters-in-law: Janet and Debbie Musselman.  He was preceded in death by six brothers: Emory, Larry, James, Shelby, Kelly, and Clark Musselman; and two sisters: Nancy Merritts and Linda Thompson

 Gene was a 1949 Graduate of Greenfield High School in Claysburg.  He then served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, earning an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Private First Class.  Gene retired from Kennametal, and was a member of the Bald Hill Lutheran Church, where he was a council member and Sunday school teacher.  He was also a member of the Smokey Run Rod & Gun Club, in Claysburg and was a Scout Master for 10 years.  Gene enjoyed his Chevy truck, which he bought new in 1967, and also enjoyed square dancing, woodworking, his tractors, softball, deer hunting and was a huge Cincinnati Reds Fan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bald Hill Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jenny Barnes, and Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A.
