Theodore R. “Ted” Eichler, 84, of Alum Bank, died at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on July 31, 1932, in Alum Bank, a son of the late Edward and Alice (Rock) Eichler. On September 14, 1962, in Cumberland, MD, he married Mary (Weyant) Eichler who survives along with the following family: two daughters, Vanessa Hoagland and husband Randy, of Bedford, Karen Cogan and husband Timothy, of Clearville; six grandchildren:  Rachael Anderson and husband Bret, Derek Hoagland and companion Blair, Leah Hoagland, Jeremy Hoagland, Amanda Bollman and husband Richard, and Dillon Price; three step-grandchildren:  Christopher Cogan, Chantel Schreiber and husband Lucas, Zane Cogan and companion Faith; two great grandchildren:  Caroline Anderson and Mason Bollman; two step great grandchildren:  Nolan Cogan and Gunner Schreiber; one brother, Harry Eichler, of Fredericktown, MO; and three sisters: Helen Moreno and husband Manuel of Butler, Gretchen Ethridge of Orlando, FL, and Nancy Shipley and husband Watson of Sharpsville.  He was preceded in death by one sister:  Betty Wentz, and two brothers:  Richard and Edward Eichler.

Ted worked as a superintendent at one of the local cemeteries in Bedford, for over 20 years. He also worked with his brother at Eichler’s Auto Transmission Repair.  He enjoyed serving the Lord, fishing, and fixing old cars.  Ted could build and fix anything.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Brian Blais officiating.  Burial at Schellsburg Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 5 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
