Robert A. Kerr 83, of Manns Choice, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on May 8, 1934 in Cumberland, MD, a son of the late Robert H. Kerr and Dorothy (Allen) Kerr.  He is survived by a sister, Dorothy K. ‘Dotty’ Rice, widow of Don, of Bedford, and a brother, Dan Kerr, and wife Juanita, both of Bedford; nephews and nieces: Wally and Steve Rice, of Bedford, Mark Kerr, of Annandale, VA, and Lynn Kerr McKay and husband Brad, of Arlington, VA; great-nieces and nephews: Chelsie East, Briana Rice, Jerry and Jeff Rice, and Matthew and Nicholas McKay. 

Bob was a 1952 graduate of Bedford Area High School and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in forestry from Penn State University.  Bob spend his career working for the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks. He worked in numerous state parks and in Harrisburg, before retiring as Park Superintendent of Hickory Run State Park.  He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and taking numerous hunting and fishing trips, including one to the Arctic Circle to harvest a Caribou.  Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors, making woodworking gifts for his family, and volunteering at the Bedford Food Pantry.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating.  Burial at Schellsburg Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday from 9:30 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions in Bob’s name to: Bedford Food Outreach Inc., P.O.
