Max L. Elliott

June 28, 1934 ~ October 12, 2016 (age 82) 82 Years Old


Max L. Elliott, 82, of Centerville, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  He was born on June 28, 1934 in Cumberland, MD a son of the late Howard E. and Ella M. “Bell” (Price) Elliott.  On April 7, 1957 in Bedford Valley, he married Eva M. “Tina” (Rose) Elliott,  who survives along with the following family: a daughter, Karen Bischof, two sons: Kevin Elliott, and wife Amy, and Kelly Elliott, married to the former Wendy Easter, all of Bedford; five grandchildren: Jason Bischof, and wife Jessica, Kayla Smith and husband Brian, Brayden, Jacob, and Samantha Elliott; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrna Smith and husband Royce, of Payson, AZ; and three brothers: Carl Elliott and wife Lucille, of Centerville, William “Bill” Elliott and fiancé Fran, of Centerville, and Dale Elliott and wife Lana, of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by three sisters: Lareda Roy, Mary Rose, and Eilene Snyder, and an infant brother Johnny Elliott.

Max served as a construction airman for the Air Force. He was stationed at Landsberg AFB in Germany during the Korean War from 1952-1956.  He retired after 30 years as a truck driver for PennDot. After he retired he worked for Clark’s Auctioneering.  Max was a member of the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed tending to his garden, lawn, and taking care of his dogs.  He and his wife and close friends Homer and Alma Rose took many trips together across the United Sates.  Max never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Bob Yothers, officiating.  Burial at Union Cemetery in Centerville, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A.
